Meet Ben Worsey – Head Engineer at Everland Studios
Ben is the owner and head engineer at Everland Studios, a professional recording studio in Sydney’s inner-west. With over 20 years of experience in the audio industry — including 12 years at Everland’s current location — Ben brings a lifelong passion for sound and a love of diverse musical genres to every project.
Ben’s journey into music and sound began early, recording with a ¼" reel-to-reel tape machine and later a Tascam Portastudio and Atari 1040ST. After studying at the School of Audio Engineering in 1999, he went on to work at Good Audio Sense in Melbourne for over five years.
Ben is equally comfortable working across indie rock, pop, folk, blues, roots, hard rock and metal. His mixing style is punchy and dynamic — he builds mixes from the bottom up using creative techniques that serve both the song and the artist’s vision.
He believes collaboration is key. With a focus on clear, non-technical communication, Ben helps artists feel confident and creatively involved throughout the recording and mixing process.
Ben’s recording philosophy is simple: get the right sound from the start. He focuses on careful microphone placement and thoughtful EQ during tracking, ensuring the mix builds on a solid foundation — not on fixes.
